WHAT IS AROMATHERAPY?

Aromatherapy is the use of highly concentrated aromatic oils distilled from plants to heal the body, boost mental performance, and influence emotions.

Plants produce essential oils to protect themselves against disease and rot, and to ward off pests. The practice of aromatherapy harnesses these powers to benefit humans. Essential oils can calm us down or cheer us up; help us sleep or sharpen our focus. They can soothe irritated skin, help fight infections, and facilitate the body’s natural healing process.

Aromatherapy done right can make you feel just as good as it makes you smell.

It can even help ward off pests—most organic bug repellants are essential oil aromatherapy!

Does aromatherapy work?

Yes! Essential oils contain powerful chemical components. They work in synergy with one another and with your body to bring about gentle but powerful shifts.

Aromatherapy is different than pharmaceutical medicines, which are often developed by isolating one “active” chemical component and creating a drug of the concentrated substance.

Essential oils, on the other hand, are whole and unrefined. They contain “active” and “supportive” components, just as the plant intended.Instead of addressing one symptom or body system, they work more holistically, delivering concentrated, potent plant power!

Aromatherapy is used as a complementary treatment by massage therapists, nurses, pharmacists, chiropractors, physical therapists, and other practitioners. You’ll find it in private practices, homes, and even hospitals.

How is aromatherapy used?

Aromatherapy comes in massage oils, bath salts, lotions, injury salves, inhalers, candles, air fresheners and more! It’s great for house cleaning, too—you can find natural cleaning products made with essential oils at your local health food store, and even make your own.

Terramica makes aromatherapy simple. All blends are diffused through our advanced aroma diffusers using cold nebuilization technology where they’re absorbed through inhalation throughout the day. This is aromatherapy the way it was meant to be—pure, convenient, effective!

What’s NOT aromatherapy?
A note about synthetics:

You’ll find lots of products on store shelves labeled “aromatherapy” that aren’t created with pure essential oils. Instead, they’re made with synthetic fragrances, and additives like parabens and mineral oil. Don’t be fooled—this isn’t aromatherapy! While commercial scented candles, perfumes and other products may smell wonderful, they aren’t therapeutic, and may even cause negative reactions. Always check the label for pure, organic, wild-crafted or unsprayed essential oils, and other organic ingredients.
